Guy Genin

External Advisory Board Member

Guy Genin applies solid mechanics principles to understand living systems and treat disease. He is the Faught Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Washington University, where he co-directs the NSF STC for Engineering Mechanobiology and the NIH-funded Center for CardioVascular Innovation (CVISE).

Genin is on the SES Board of Directors, and is Secretary of the ASME Bioengineering Division. A fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, Genin is chief engineer of Caeli Vascular, and CTO of Vascorra, LLC. He is recipient of the ASME Skalak award for work on mechanobiology and the ASME Woo Medal for translational impact in mechanobiology.

Genin earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Case Western Reserve University and master’s and doctoral degrees from Harvard, and completed postdoctoral training at Cambridge and Brown.
